About

I wasn't born with a camera in my hand, but it didn't take long for me to find one.
When I was 5 years old my mom set up a makeshift darkroom in the family bathroom.... and I was hooked.
That first encounter with photography started my life-long journey as a photographer.
My career has taken me around the world and allowed me to photograph a wide variety of editorial and commerical assignments: from a rock climber perched high on the cliffs of Yosemite to the Olympics in Sydney Australia. I've photographed the ancient Dol hareubang statues that gaurd against evil spirits on Korea's Jeju Island and the slanted architecture on the beaches of Santos, Brazil.
Like the great Johnny Cash song... I've been everywhere! Well not quite, but I'm working on it.
Hundreds of magazine covers and thousands of published photos later, I still am hooked on Photography.
Photography has been a major part of my life since I first witnessed that image magically appear in the tray full of developer.
As I enter my 3rd decade as a professional photographer, I am going back to my roots. My camera of choice now is a wooden 4x5 camera loaded with film. My subjects have slowed down.... what used to be 98 mph fastballs and 200 mpg race cars, is now graceful sand dunes and fog growing out of the floor of Yosemite Valley.
I still work with Digital SLR's for my portrait and wedding work, but I work with the old school equipment every chance I get.
There is something special about the classic approach to photography.
